Would you look at that? This is a lamp! Gordon Tarpley had the amazing idea of combining two of everyone’s favorite movies, Star Wars and A Christmas Story, by creating a C-3PO R2-D2 Leg Lamp. Isn’t that glorious? It’s indescribably beautiful!
Well, the apocalypse is upon us. Luckily we have some great looking comedy from a bunch of comedians and actors to keep our mind off the zombies, floods, earthquakes, meteors, alien annihilation or whichever way the end was supposed to go down today.
This is the End is a movie about some sort of apocalyptic event and the ensuing hilarity. James Franco stars along with Seth Rogan, Jonah Hill, Danny McBride, Craig Robinson, Michael Cera and a bunch of other people who frequent the Apatow-ian movies that seemed to have spawned all these wonderfully talented comedians.
The movie was written in 2007 by Seth Rogan and costar Jay Baruchel, in what I can only imagine must have been a stoned session of them sitting around postulating what would happen to them and their friends should some cataclysmic event transpire.
All of the actors play themselves in This is the End which, in my opinion, gives them more opportunities to have fun with (and at the expense of) each other and ultimately entertain us. But enough about my opinion. Check it out:
Mega Man (or Rockman for you Japan addicts) turns 25 this year. Coincidentally, Street Fighter also celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. What better way to celebrate both events than by playing this free fantastical mash-up of both games?

The peak of the Geminid Meteor Shower was last night, but you can still see plenty of meteors falling towards Earth tonight. Just get somewhere away from any bright city lights, bundle up and lay back and watch as much of the sky as you can. There should be as many as a couple “shooting stars” per minute. Get your wishes ready.

If you’re going to be in or around the Seattle area any time this month I suggest you stop by the L|td. Art Gallery and get your fill of Jedi, Jawas and Jar-Jar or Wampas, Wookiees and Womp Rats at their “Who Shot First?” Star Wars-centric art exhibit.
The most recent Man of Steel trailer gives me hope that this second reboot of the Superman franchise will prove more entertaining than the first. I’m still not so sure I like the hyper-textured look of the new costume though.
A few days ago, Donald Trump announced that he will no longer serve Glenfiddich single malt scotch whiskey at any of the bars in his properties because the Glenfiddich Spirit of Scotland – Top Scot title was awarded (by public vote) to Michael Forbes, who refused to sell his land to Donald Trump as part of Trump’s plans to build a golf course. Forbes is a farmer and has lived on the land for 43 years. The fact that the contest is only sponsored by Glenfiddich’s parent company William Grant and Sons and decided by a public vote shows how ridiculous The Donald is being in his decision.
So, everyone raise a glass of Glenfiddich in honor of Michael Forbes for both winning the Top Scot award and for not being bullied into selling his land!
